Earth Day is April 22 and even though outside activities are limited there are many things you can do around your home to help our environment. Here are a few ideas:
1. Get creative. Use plastic bottles and bags to make fun and useful items for inside and outside. Search the internet for ways to recycle. You can check out https://www.pinterest.com/sherron/plastic-bag-crafts/, https://www.reusethisbag.com/articles/creative-recycling-projects/, and https://www.boredpanda.com/plastic-bottle-recycling-ideas/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=organic, to name a few.
2. Discover ways to create indoor and outdoor gardens using food scraps. Search https://www.diyncrafts.com/4732/repurpose/25-foods-can-re-grow-kitchen-scraps, https://home.howstuffworks.com/green-living/fertilize-plants-kitchen-scraps.htm, for helpful tips.
3. Collect rainwater for your garden. I have actually done this except I didn't add a spout. I used a bucket to scoop out the water. https://www.pinterest.com/pin/283515739021933579/?nic_v1=1avWT3q37XNZji4y6H%2Bj1TdOQI7UZ0JC3VJDgEo2K3wXprLmfBvmPfQzk1AuIKZ42U
4. Recycle material from clothes you no longer need and make a quilt or stuffed animals. Your kids will love this project. https://www.lifehack.org/453113/27-creative-ways-to-reuse-old-clothing.
Each of these links has lots of other ideas for home Earth Day projects. Remember to protect our earth and when you can, check out https://earth911.com/ for ways you can continue to help our planet throughout the year.
It's as simple as that!
