Use baskets and bins for everything from socks to toys. Things don't have to be restricted to drawers. It will take less time to clean up and still contain the things they need to get to.
Put wheels on chests for storage. Having the ability to move containers around the room puts things near where they play and study.
Paint a wall with chalkboard paint or put up a large whiteboard to encourage creativity and help with studies.
Separate study materials from playthings to encourage focus.
Use fun containers for earbuds, pens, coins, and trinkets.
Use binders or albums to store photographs and drawings. Having too many papers displayed around a room can create an overwhelming experience.
Put a hamper in their room to help them keep their dirty clothes from lying on the floor.
The more functional a child's room is and the more they have a place created especially for them and by them is an opportunity for a happier kid.
